What is Matter?
Matter is the protocol that make connected devices ecosystem-agnostic. With Matter, mui Board Gen 2 can become a calm hub for the home, seamlessly connecting across Matter devices.
Does mui Board Gen 2 connect to other Matter-enabled ecosystems?
As of 2026, mui Board Gen 2 does not connect to other Matter-enabled ecosystems, such as Home Assistant, SmartThings, Alexa, or Homekit. Our focus this year is in adding comprehensive Matter device type support.
Users that still want to use mui Board while having an existing Matter ecosystem can link mui Board to devices that are also connected to said ecosystem. This is called 'multi-admin' and is a key feature of Matter.
